Is the first job truly free?
Yes — no credit card required. You get the full platform including AI scoring, voice interviews, and the AI chat assistant. Your 100 free AI credits are included too.
When does the $1 job fee get charged?
When you post your second or later job. You're taken to Stripe's checkout to pay $1 and save your card. After that, $1 is auto-charged each time a job crosses a new 100-applicant mark.
What are AI credits used for?
Credits power two things: automatic candidate scoring when an application is submitted (costs ~10 credits), and AI chat queries to filter and shortlist candidates (~18 credits per message).
How are AI credits priced?
Credits map directly to GPT-5.4 token pricing — 2 credits per 1K input tokens ($2/1M) and 8 credits per 1K output tokens ($8/1M). Actual cost per action varies by response length.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Candidate scoring is skipped and the AI chat returns an insufficient-credits message. Jobs and applicants are not affected — just the AI features. Purchase more credits anytime from your billing page.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits never expire and carry over indefinitely. You can top up at any time in any pack size.
Can I close a job to stop applicant billing?
Yes. Close or archive a job at any time. Once closed, no new applicants can apply and no further charges occur for that job.
What payment methods are accepted?
All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover) via Stripe. Card details are never stored on HIRED's servers.
